Wild Yarnbala

IMMERSE IN NATURE

Step into one of South Australia’s last untouched grassy she-oak woodlands and reconnect with the often-overlooked wonders of the natural world.

Guided by a lifelong local custodian, this immersive and intimate tour takes place in a critically endangered ecosystem — a rare patch of ancient woodland unique to the Eyre Peninsula.

This is not your average tour. Wild Yarnbala is a bespoke, small-group experience led by Founder of Yarnbala, Kane Slater, tailored to the season and the ever-changing rhythms of nature. No two visits are ever the same.

Set within a critically endangered ecosystem, this immersive journey invites you to slow down, engage all your senses, and experience the richness of country — as it once was.

What You’ll Experience:

  • Forage and taste native bush tucker as you explore the seasonal abundance of this rare habitat

  • Learn the ancient skill of water divining and test whether you have the ‘gift’ to find water beneath the earth

  • Spot native fauna including emus, goannas, and — during cooler months — the Western Pygmy Possum, one of Australia’s cutest and most vulnerable marsupials

  • Unwind at the artistically designed Yarnbala meeting place, surrounded by natural materials and centred around the signature fire pit

  • Enjoy a live didgeridoo and lap-steel guitar performance, creating an atmospheric close to the tour

  • Savour local flavour with a glass of Coffin Bay gin infused with handpicked botanicals, or sample some of South Australia’s finest wines or craft beers

Giving Back to the Land

A portion of every ticket directly supports environmental stewardship and the protection of this rare ecosystem through the Yarnbala Foundation. Your visit helps fund on-ground conservation projects, habitat restoration, and the safe haven program for species such as the Western Pygmy Possum.
